PADI Discover Scuba Diving

With the world’s most trusted Scuba Diving Instructors

PADI Discover Scuba Diving · No certification · No experience required

Try scuba diving for the first time, the right way — in a warm, calm bay with a qualified PADI Instructor and one of the world's great reefs ten minutes' boat ride away. Half a day from start to finish.

$100  ·  includes equipment, instruction and the dive

What you'll do

A safe, supervised first breath underwater

Your instructor will walk you through how the equipment works and what to expect underwater. You'll practise a short set of basic skills in shallow confined water — clearing your mask, recovering your regulator, equalising your ears — before heading out on your first proper dive on the reef.

  • Brief land-based introduction to the gear and safety basics
  • Skills practice session in shallow, calm water with your instructor
  • One open water dive on the West End reef, accompanied by your instructor at all times
  • Maximum depth 12 metres — you stay within your instructor's reach throughout
Doesn't count as a certification

Discover Scuba Diving is an experience, not a course. If you decide you want to dive properly, the time you spend in the water with us can be credited toward your full PADI Open Water Diver certification.

Your first breaths underwater

A half-day introduction, no qualification required

Calm, shallow water directly in front of the dive shop — no pool, no commitment.

Everything for the dive itself

What it's like in Roatan

A near-perfect place for a first dive

Water temperature is between 27 and 30°C year-round — no thick wetsuit, no shivering between dives. Visibility on the West End reefs typically runs twenty to thirty metres, so even your first dive comes with a real sense of the underwater world rather than swimming through a green haze. There's no current to fight in the marine-park zone, and the dive shop sits directly on a calm beach that's well-suited to first-time scuba sessions.

Most people come up smiling. A fair number book their full Open Water course the same afternoon.

The easiest way to find out if diving is for you

One instructor per small group, all gear provided

If you love it, the Open Water course picks up where Discover Scuba leaves off.
