Important PADI requirement — read before planning your trip You must hold an entry-level dive certification for a minimum of six months before you can begin the IDC. This requirement cannot be waived. We strongly recommend obtaining your Open Water certification as early as possible, then returning to Roatan at least three months later to complete the remaining pathway in a single visit within the 90-day tourist visa.

As a working diving professional, the IDC is the natural next step. The most direct and streamlined pathway to Instructor-level certification.
